Reinhardt University’s annual Convocation of Artists and Scholars highlights some of the best of the best of University students. The weeklong event celebrates the artistic and scholarly achievement of Reinhardt students.
The week will begin Monday, April 2, with An Evening of Honors, a night in Flint Hall at Falany Performing Arts Center that honors students performing exceedingly well at Reinhardt University.
On Tuesday, April 3, Reinhardt President Dr. Kina S. Mallard officially will open Convocation of Artists and Scholars at 8:30 a.m. in the Hill Freeman Library Community Room. Research conference presentations will immediately follow, until noon. Other presentations on the first day of Convocation are: Science and Math Poster Exhibition and Presentations (1-3 p.m.), Experiential Learning, Service Learning and Internship Presentations (3-5 p.m.) and Creative Writing Readings (6-7:30 p.m.). All events take place in the Hill Freeman Library Community Room.
Education and Sport Studies Presentations will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon in the Community Room. Continuing on Wednesday include Honor Society Recognition and Driscoll Award Presentations (noon to 1 p.m.), Performing Arts Presentations (1:30-2:45 p.m., Falany Performing Arts Center) and First-Year Seminar Presentations (3:30-5 p.m., Library Classroom).
Convocation of Artists and Scholars will culminate with the International Culture Festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Hoke O’Kelley Auditorium.
Also on Thursday, April 5 is the always anticipated Spring Day. Day classes are cancelled on April 5 so make time to enjoy International Culture Fest during the day and continue the fun with Spring Day from 4-8 p.m. Activities include inflatables (the always favorite Big Red Chair), crafts and games. At 5 p.m., the University community is invited to gather at the new bridge over Lake Mullenix for a dedication ceremony honoring donors who made possible this addition to the Arts Around the Lake initiative.
