Performing Arts student Natalie Beaty shared her Reinhardt Experience as an ADay for Reinhardt: Cherokee County student during the kickoff luncheon July 21. She is pictured with Dale Morrissey, director of development and external relations for Reinhardt University.

The 2017-18 ADay for Reinhardt campaign officially kicked off at Featherstone’s Grille at BridgeMill in Canton July 21 with members of the ADay Committee, Reinhardt President Dr. Kina Mallard and Reinhardt administration and staff in attendance.

ADay for Reinhardt is a fundraising campaign that provides scholarship money to Cherokee County residents attending Reinhardt University. Since its inception in 1988, ADay has provided nearly $5 million in financial assistance to Cherokee County residents who attend Reinhardt.

“Our ADay for Reinhardt committee members are great examples to our students. You are showing them firsthand what it means to be a good servant-leader,” said Tim Norton, vice president for advancement and marketing. “It is wonderful to see familiar faces at this luncheon year after year. Your dedication and commitment to Reinhardt are appreciated beyond words.”

To help raise awareness and funds for ADay for Reinhardt, Rick Rowland, president and CEO of United Community Bank, is leading the campaign this academic year.

“Investing in Reinhardt University students is an investment in our county’s future. These students have grown up here and we see many of them return to our county to work and contribute to the local economy after graduation,” Rowland said.

This fall, Reinhardt has two fundraising efforts strictly for ADay: a 5K run/walk in downtown Canton and a ribbon campaign to show support for the University.

The 5K for ADay run will take place Sept. 16 at Cannon Park in downtown Canton. Registration begins at 7 a.m. with the run/walk commencing at 8 a.m. For more information or to register, visit ADay5K.Reinhardt.edu.

This year’s presenting sponsor is Northside Hospital-Cherokee. Gold sponsors are Bank of North Georgia and Family Life Publications. Silver sponsors are United Community Bank and South State Bank. Bronze sponsors are North Georgia CPA Services, PC, Credit Union of Georgia, Sarcraft, LGE Community Credit Union and Hamilton State Bank. The mileage sign sponsors are Greg Elwell DMD, PC and R&D Mechanical Services, Inc., and Anytime Fitness is a Friends of Reinhardt sponsor. More sponsorships are available. Deadline is Sept. 1. For more information, visit ADay5K.Reinhardt.edu.

In addition to the 5K for ADay, businesses and residents are asked to support Reinhardt’s ADay Campaign by purchasing handcrafted ribbons and displaying them on their front doors and/or in their windows. Ribbons are $30 each. Discounts are offered for two or more ribbons purchased. For more information, visit www.reinhardt.edu/adayribbons.

“We want to see ribbons on every home and business in downtown Canton and beyond,” said Dale Morrissey, director of development and external relations.
