Reinhardt University will offer its faculty’s talent to young actors and actresses interested in furthering their theatrical abilities at the Musical Theatre Intensive. The Intensive provides vocal coaching, acting and movement, and masterclasses.
The Intensive day camp will take place July 12-24, 2021, 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
“You will explore the possibilities waiting for you as a singing actor,” said Brian Osborne, musical director and assistant professor of music. “You will sing songs that work for you and your voice type, make them sound great and explore all the acting and interpretive choices you can make with your songs.”
Reinhardt’s Musical Theatre Intensive includes:
- Voice lessons with Reinhardt voice faculty
- Acting and movement with Reinhardt theatre faculty
- Vocal coaching, repertoire guidance and audition techniques
- Daily masterclasses and workshops
Participants will conclude their time with a cabaret performance on July 24 at 3 p.m. and in a performance of “Children of Eden Jr.” at 7 p.m.
The program will incorporate University COVID-19 protocols for social distancing and mask-wearing in rehearsals with performances outdoors and socially distanced.
Those applying must submit their form available at Reinhardt.edu/SOPACamp through U.S. Mail or by emailing Brian Osborne at BSO@Reinhardt.edu. Those interested in the Musical Theatre Intensive must submit a YouTube video audition performing a song that suits them best. The audition video must be at least two minutes. The deadline to apply is July 1.
“You will get to see some of the exciting things happening at Reinhardt University in the musical theatre department by working with our amazing faculty in the beautiful University Theater,” said Osborne.
