On a beautiful spring day, Reinhardt University seniors took turns ringing the newly installed bell outside the Tarpley Education Center. The celebration on April 23rd signified the last day of classes before final exams begin, and the start of a new tradition.
The bell was dedicated in the Fall of 2023 after being donated by Reinhardt Nurse Gwen Chambers and her sisters, Dr. Sharon Pappas and Gina Mitchell in honor of Cora Belle Tarpley Holcombe, their mother and Fred Tarpley’s sister. Nurse Gwen hopes that all who touch the bell realize that nothing is impossible.
Fall graduates of the Cauble School of Nursing began a tradition of ringing the bell on the day of their pinning ceremony. That custom has now expanded to the entire graduating class as the end of their collegiate years approaches.
Commencement for the 2024 graduates will be held on May 3rd. More information on the ceremony can be found by clicking the button below.
