Reinhardt University stands proud of its United Methodist heritage. Every spring, the United Methodist Scholarship Golf Outing raises critical scholarship dollars for students to obtain their degrees.
The 31st annual tournament on May 15th raised funds while providing fun and fellowship for golfers of all levels. Over 100 Methodist clergy and community members across northwest Georgia planned and participated in this event at Lake Arrowhead Yacht and Country Club in Waleska.
Committee member and Jasper United Methodist Church Pastor Greg Meadows expressed his gratitude at the event, “My son Gregory Meadows graduated from Reinhardt University in 2020 with a degree in religion. He is currently serving as the Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry at the St. James UMC in Atlanta and pursuing a Master of Theology degree at Candler School of Theology. This direction in life is all due to the scholarship funds that made his education at Reinhardt possible. Gregory’s time at Reinhardt helped him follow his calling.”
Brian Smith, pastor at Waleska United Methodist Church and a committee member enjoys participating each year saying, “I love how this tournament reminds us of the incredible impact that individuals and churches can have when we come together and work towards a shared goal. It is a true joy to be part of this meaningful and impactful event that brings together community members and churches to support Reinhardt students.”
Reinhardt University appreciates its sponsors’ support and participation in this important fundraising event and the ongoing philanthropic support from the Kathy B. Davis Foundation.
