Two Reinhardt alumni were chosen as recipients of Cherokee County’s Top 10 in 10 Young Professionals to Watch – Jesse Hamilton (RU-2012) and Laura Chambers (RU-2021). The Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce presents this award to recognize county residents between the ages of 20-40 who are rising stars poised to become the next generation of community leaders.

Hamilton recently received a promotion to Lieutenant and oversees the Canton Police Department’s Support Bureau which includes criminal investigations and special operations. He joined the force 11 years ago, citing a passion for public service. Impressive honors encompass his career such as becoming the 2018 and 2022 Supervisor of the Year and receiving Reinhardt University’s 2014 Outstanding Alumni Award.

Hamilton explains he entered the profession to help people and is most proud of the lives he changes, both at work and by volunteering. He offers this advice, “Dream bigger than you think possible and then work hard to get there as the best accomplishments take time to achieve.”

Chambers serves as the youngest executive board member and executive director of marketing for Chick-fil-A Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta located in Woodstock, GA, and created her own business, Studio 22 Marketing.

Chambers’ event coordination and brand awareness skills shine at the successful Cherokee County Chick-fil-A 5K race every August. The 5K benefits the Cherokee County Educational Foundation and Cherokee County Special Olympics. Chambers’ community impact also extends to connecting Chick-fil-A team members with volunteer opportunities and leading the company’s food support programs for Cherokee County.
