Every Reinhardt University nursing student in the Class of 2024 officially became a licensed registered nurse (RN) after passing the required National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) exam. Both Cohort 9 and Cohort 10, who completed their degrees during the 2023-2024 school year achieved a 100% pass rate. Impressively, five cohorts have achieved a perfect pass rate since the program’s inaugural graduation in 2020.
This remarkable feat keeps the Cauble School of Nursing and Health Sciences among the top standings in Georgia. In 2023, the University ranked eighth with a four-year average NCLEX first-time pass rate of 92.17%. These recent cohorts raise that rate to 93.9% for the life of the program. Soaring over the four-year national pass rate average of 83.66%, the success of Reinhardt’s nursing program continues to flourish.
Interim Dean Kimberlin Zelinsky commended this accomplishment, “I one hundred percent think it has to do with our teaching from a relationship standpoint. We approach teaching by seeing them as people, not as test scores. When we watch them succeed, and achieve what they once thought was impossible, we celebrate with them. We also hope our methods influence their methods of practice in the future when they work with patients or new nurses.”
Zelinsky added, “What also sets us apart are courses. For example, Dr. Maureen Newton teaches a dosage calculation class and even works with students outside of class to practice dosage math. We realize the needs our students have and offer classes not found in other schools.”
With their successful passing of the nursing exam, the newly licensed alumni completed a milestone toward making a meaningful impact in the world of healthcare.
