Nearly 300 students are set to walk across the stage May 3 to receive their hard-earned Reinhardt University degree.
The 132nd Commencement Ceremony will be held at 9:30 a.m., Friday May 3 at Ken White Field at University Stadium.
Reinhardt alumna and trustee, Alicia Ivey ‘04, will speak to the graduating class on the day of their Commencement. The president CEO of Goldbergs Concessions Corporation and chairman of Phoenix Drilling Corp. attributes much of her success to skills she developed while at Reinhardt.
“For me, I always cherish the values I learned from my beloved Reinhardt,” said Ivey. “This institution taught me to take the road traveled by few which leads to the road of boundless possibilities and success.”
The Student Reflection address will be given by Angel Cornista, who spent her days on campus as captain of the women’s volleyball team for back-to-back championship titles, an orientation leader and member of D.R.E.A.M.S. Cornista will reflect on the experiences that the Class of 2019 endured together, examining growth and talking about connections she made with faculty and staff over the past four years.
“My professors and mentors helped me dig deep for the passion I have for Reinhardt,” Cornista said.
History graduate Madeline Gray, recipient of the 2019 Engaged Learner Award, will deliver the benediction. Dominique Xiong, who studied music education, will lead the alma mater, and musical theatre graduate Mikensley Clayton will perform “What I Did for Love” from “A Chorus Line.”
Guests are encouraged to come early for parking and seating. Graduates will park at the East/West apartments, and handicap parking will be located at the Field House. A state-issued handicap permit will be required. Golf cart shuttles and vans will be accessible across campus for those in need. Following the ceremony, all shuttles will be at One Eagles Way by the stadium to return guests to their vehicles.
