On Oct. 31, more than 260 started their Halloween day with the 6th Annual Born to Run 5K Run/Walk. The race, held in downtown Canton, raised over $20,000, which benefits Cherokee County residents attending Reinhardt University.
“I’m so grateful for the turnout at the (6th annual) Born to Run 5K! 2020 has been unusual, to say the least,” said Joe Sellers, chairman of the Cherokee Scholars program. “This year, more than ever, it was truly encouraging to see so many smiling faces of sponsors and participants turn out on a cold, Saturday morning to support the Cherokee Scholars Program.
Several teams formed to participate in the race, including the Universal Alloy team, who registered almost 25 runners, earning the coveted team trophy.
The top-three race finishers in the men’s division in order are: Fred Weir, Sebastian Viveros and Zachary Taylor. Rebekah List, Amy Catton and Julie Limbocker were the top three female finishers. Winners of divisions are posted by age at classicraceservices.com.
