Amicalola Electric Membership Corporation (EMC) continued their long-standing support to Reinhardt University with contributions to the food pantry and nursing school.
The Pantry at Reinhardt received $5,000 from Amicalola EMC to support food and housing insecure students, especially to provide support during the holiday season. The corporation also donated $2,500 to continue facility development and improvements to the new Cauble School of Nursing & Health Sciences campus in Jasper.

“We’ve partnered with Reinhardt University for many years. We appreciate the strong educational foundation Reinhardt instills in its students, we appreciate the strong presence you have in our community and we consider Reinhardt among the top educational institutions in our area,” said President/CEO of Amicalola EMC, Todd Payne.
The corporation has connected with and supported Reinhardt University since 1988. They believe in supporting the community and in particular investing in education.
“Amicalola EMC is a not-for-profit electric cooperative,” said Payne. “Concern for community is one of our seven guiding principles and we believe that by investing in the students in our service area, we are investing in the future of our community. The funds used for the donation are from unclaimed property, and in accordance with Georgia’s unclaimed property laws, we must use the funds for education, economic development and local nonprofits.”
