Reinhardt University’s Biology department invited 21 students to be inducted into the Beta Beta Beta National Biological Honors Society at a ceremony held on April 28. Students who pursue Biology and Biology Education are eligible for membership. The Beta Beta Beta organization was founded in 1922 and is comprised of over 600 individual chapters around the US and Puerto Rico.
The Reinhardt Psi Pi Chapter of the Beta Beta Beta National Biological Honors Society was established in 2004 and has been a continuous presence on campus since then. Students are invited for membership if they have taken at least three biology courses, have a combined 3.0 GPA in their biology courses and maintain good academic standing with the University.
Keith Ray, instructor of biology, recognizes the importance of this opportunity for Reinhardt students.
“Students who accept membership into the society gain recognition for their hard work and effort in their biology classes – which are very challenging,” said Ray. “The other membership benefits include access to a large network of members, potential funding for research projects, a scientific journal where they can publish small research projects and learn about the writing and publishing process, as well as joining a large network of biology professionals that generously give back to this community.”
Congratulations to the inductees!
