More than 100 golfers enjoyed a beautiful day on the golf course at Capital City Club-Crabapple supporting Reinhardt University students.
The 31st Annual Dave Henritze Scholarship Golf Classic, held April 30, raised $150,000 for Reinhardt University student scholarships.
“We are so grateful for everyone who participated in this year’s golf classic,” said Dale Morrissey, senior director of constituent engagement. “I’d like to thank all of our sponsors and participants for their generous support and for making the tournament such a success.”
The top-scoring team, earning the coveted trophy, was The Varsity, made up of John Brown, Gordon Muir, William Light and RU wrestling coach Jeff Bedard. The team scored 103.
The low gross team was McGriff Insurance with a score of 128, and included Reinhardt Trustee Tommy Beman, Jarod Cheney, Cullen Meyer and Ken Morton.
The second-place low net Team with a score of 109 was Mike Payne, Mike Tillis, Ryan Carter and Clint Evans, representing The Coca-Cola Company. The third-place low net team included Trustee Fred Weir, Ben Dulin, John Haynes and Alan Schuetze, and represented Zaxby’s and Carroll Daniel Construction. The fourth-place low net team was Tim Norton, Jeffery Pourchier, Todd Baker and David Cagle, playing for Dash LP.
The Longest Drive was awarded to Alan Schuetze. The Closest Pin on Par 3’s included Larry Ingram, Ken Morton, Mitch Kim and Jordan Turner, who came the closest at 4 feet 10 inches.
