Dr. Dana Hall, assistant professor of business and coordinator of Reinhardt University’s MBA program, was a shining star during Honors Night held March 27 in Flint Hall in the Falany Performing Arts Center.
Dr. Hall, who has been with Reinhardt since 2013, was selected to receive the annual Vulcan Teaching Excellence Award given through the Georgia Independent College Association, and sponsored by Vulcan Materials Company’s Southeast Division.
“Receiving this award is such an honor,” Hall said. “The biggest joy I get from teaching is being part of our students’ personal and academic development, and I’m so grateful to have that opportunity at Reinhardt University.”
Hall brings more than 25 years of corporate experience to her teaching. She spent most of her career working in the advertising industry and was a senior vice president and management representative with McCann-Erickson Worldwide in the New York office. Hall, who lives in Canton with her husband, Dick, draws from her own experience to teach marketing, buyer behavior, business statistics, research methods and business/organizational communication. Her areas of research interest are focused on organizational identification and organizational commitment.
Vulcan’s Southeast Division has sponsored the teaching excellence award since the early 1990s through the Georgia Independent College Association. The award is presented to a faculty member at each of the GICA’s 25-member institutions, in recognition of outstanding contributions to undergraduate education, student learning, and campus life.
