Reinhardt University’s Hill Freeman Library is hosting a book signing with Dr. Karen Owen, assistant professor of political science, March 15.
The event will be held at 1 p.m. on the third floor of the Hill Freeman Library and Spruill Learning Center.
Owen’s book, “Women Officeholders and the Role Models Who Pioneered the Way,” recently was released and includes information from interviews with more than 60 female office holders who served in state legislatures or in Congress.
“Women are more likely to seek public office if they have role models walking the path with them,” Owen said. “It’s good to have someone walking alongside of you who has been there before and can help you navigate the obstacles women are more likely to face.”
In addition, Owen will participate in a book signing March 13, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., at the R.T. Jones Library at 116 Brown Parkway in Canton.
