The Reinhardt Art and Communications Departments presents a spring art show “Faculty & Friends.” The impressive collection reveals that RU professors aren’t just instructors, they’re engaged and active members of the art community who hope to inspire others.
“There is so much creativity happening at Reinhardt that sometimes goes unnoticed,” says Art Department Program Coordinator Jym Davis. “It is also important for people to experience art in person. Too often art is only experienced on small-screen social media. Art is meant to be engaged in a gallery space, in its original context.”
The themes and media on display are unique to the artists and are examples of the variety of class options for students. They include photography, festival-themed masks, abstract butterfly paintings, video art and giclee prints.
The event runs March 10 to April 1 at the Falany Performing Arts Center Gallery. A public reception with a chance to meet the artists is Tuesday, March 21st from 5 to 7 pm.
