The benefits of a small campus come in many forms, including the individualized service students received in all areas, not the least of which is financial aid. Finances in college can be daunting, and Reinhardt works to ensure no student bears the burden alone.
Angela Harlow, director of student financial aid, described the financial aid process as one that follows students throughout their entire experience.
“Each student is assigned a counselor when they are admitted to the University; a relationship that lasts until graduation,” said Harlow. “Our student financial aid counselors assist our students not only through the application process for federal, state and institutional aid but outside scholarships as well.”
Financial aid counselors invest in students, teaching them how and where to search for scholarships outside of Reinhardt. They help them complete the application process, write essays and show students what to do once they have received scholarships.
Not only does the financial aid office want students to be familiar with their counselors, but they desire for lines of communication to be open to provide the best service possible.
“We believe that communication is a key component to being successful at Reinhardt. We want our students to be comfortable and confident with their financial aid counselor and know that when they come in they are not a number but a person,” said Harlow.
“I always say that I have two favorite days of the school year, the first day and graduation. It is very rewarding to know that you have helped a person achieve one of their life goals.”
