The Funk Heritage Center on Reinhardt University’s campus presents a month of experts with their summer series. Each Thursday at 2 p.m., local experts will share their passions and knowledge across a wide range of topics.

June 3: Byron Ballard:
Appalachian Folklorist
“Dilettante mediaevalist. Hunter-gatherer. Cover doctor and yarb woman. Independent Forensic Folklorist”
June 10: Wayne Glowka, luthier:
“The Banjo”
Retired Reinhardt University Professor Wayne Glowka will demonstrate perhaps the most distinctive instrument in the South.
June 17: Georgann Schmalz,
ornithologist: “The Life of a Bird”
Retired Fernbank Science Center ornithologist Georgann Schmalz will introduce us to the intimate details of the life of birds.
June 24: Sarah Love:
DNR Archaeology
Archaeologist Sarah Love will discuss the Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ role in documenting important state historic sites.
The summer series is free for members and $10 for non-members.
