Living by the phrase, “You only live once,” Jacob Profit (RU-2024) shares positive energy, encouragement, and a friendly smile to connect with those around him. “There is an immense sense of joy and satisfaction when something I have done or said has a positive impact on another person. Contributing to others rewards me and reminds me that my existence matters. Making today better is what we should all strive to do,” he explains. “I live my life being mindful to readily accept the positives and careful to glean something from the negatives.”
While earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, Profit routinely made the President’s and Dean’s lists, and says graduating with honors makes him proud. In April, he won the Academic Degree Program Award in General Business at the Evening of Honors, and in the Fall of 2023, Profit’s peers elected him homecoming king.
As a senior player on Reinhardt’s baseball team, Profit remains on campus, eagerly preparing for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Baseball National Championship series. This season, the Eagles earned their highest national ranking in program history and will host the opening round of the championship which takes place May 13th to 16th.
Off-campus, Profit spends academic breaks volunteering to help with food drives and making meal deliveries for his grandparents’ church in Perry, Georgia. He also happily recounts volunteering to interact with foster children and with the Coastal Stars Showcase Baseball Program which helps high school players develop their skills and get noticed by recruiters.
Once the Eagles’ baseball season concludes, Profit hopes to attend pilot school, with the consideration of making flying his career. His interests also lie in owning a sports-related business. As someone who thrives on a feeling of community and maintaining strong connections, he hopes to stay close enough to Reinhardt to remain involved. He adds, “I want to make everybody’s day as happy as possible.”
