Starting in the Fall of 2025, incoming Reinhardt University students will select a minor degree to complement their major. “By graduating with both a major and a minor, students leave Reinhardt equipped with a deep knowledge in a specialized field (the major) coupled with a diverse set of skills and knowledge in another discipline (minor),” explained Dr. John Miles, Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs. Choosing to pursue a minor remains an option for current students.
With approximately 50 minors to choose from, options enable students to select areas to complement their major while exploring various facets of their interests. Not only does this interdisciplinary approach give rise to personal fulfillment, but skills can translate into an expanded career path. For example, pairing a biology major with a business analytics minor enhances career prospects in bioinformatics research. Pairing criminal justice with cybersecurity, or a sociology major with a human resources management minor provides a competitive edge in those professional arenas.
Dr. Miles added, “These students will be prepared for the evolving demands of the job market and apply critical and creative thinking to complex problems. They will have the ability to work with diverse groups, and the capacity to communicate effectively. We know these skills and abilities will help them lead meaningful lives, meet employer expectations, and increase their chances of securing fulfilling careers.”
