As Communications Specialist for Reinhardt’s Office of Admissions, Heather Tilden oversees all email and print communications to students – informing them about Reinhardt events and ensuring completion of their admission files.
Tilden started working at Reinhardt three years ago as an admissions counselor moving up to associate director. With a young son, Tilden recently decided to spend more time at home, and in February she stepped into the part-time position of Communications Specialist.
Tilden brings diverse experiences and credentials to her role. “With a master’s degree in sport administration, I explored journalism for major league baseball, then discovered that I enjoy working in higher education.” Tilden grew up not far from Reinhardt, so when the opportunity arose in admissions, she knew this was where she was meant to be.
“Reinhardt has the best people!” she says. “I enjoy my time with students and find my work to be very rewarding. Also, working in the Admissions House is like a home away from home.”
Another place for Tilden to call home was Australia, where she spent three years living in Sydney. “My husband’s job took us there. We were supposed to be there for two years, but we loved it so much that we stayed for a third!” She says while she enjoys being here in Georgia, she misses Australia every day. “We lived near the beach, and prioritized our exploration of that part of the world while we were there. It was a great experience.”
