Kennesaw Chief of Police Bill Westenberger and Dr. Duanne Thompson, Executive Director, Reinhardt Public Safety Institute

Reinhardt University and the Kennesaw Police Department (KPD) entered a partnership this week. Titled an Educational Pathway agreement, it offers a tuition discount and a grant for Kennesaw public safety professionals and provides the opportunity to earn relevant degrees to help them advance in their law enforcement and public service careers.

With the Educational Pathway agreement, employees of KPD gain access to Reinhardt University’s Public Safety Institute program offerings. This includes the online criminal justice and business administration degree programs, the Organizational Management and Leadership degree, and the Reinhardt Police Academy which allows students to earn Georgia P.O.S.T. (Peace Officer Standards and Training) certification.

Deana Boling, Reinhardt admission’s Corporate Education Specialist says, “We are excited to partner with the Kennesaw Police Department and expand educational resources and opportunities to law enforcement and government agencies.”
