Reinhardt University’s Cauble School of Nursing and Health Sciences presented thirteen Fall graduates with nursing lamps and pins on December 3rd. The traditional pinning ceremony highlighted each student’s hard work and discipline.
Throughout the evening, graduates and faculty spoke words of encouragement to the new class of nurses. Interim Dean and Assistant Professor of Nursing Kimberlin Zelinsky noted, “It’s no secret that there’s a tremendous amount of pressure in nursing school, but this group of individuals has responded with grace and kindness. Like Florence Nightingale, their nursing journey is an answer to a call, rather than an assembly of means to an income.”
The DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune System) Award honors nurses who go above and beyond in the care of their patients. Adjunct faculty member Carissa Perine and graduate Rhonda Young (RU-2024) received the esteemed award for extraordinary nurse educator and extraordinary nursing student.
The graduates look forward to giving back to their communities and have all accepted job offers to work at hospitals across Georgia.
