Reinhardt University’s Office of Prevention and Awareness Services (OPA) seeks to create a safer and healthier campus where students feel a sense of belonging. OPA efforts earned the 2023 Campus Prevention Network (CPN) Seal of Prevention for demonstrating leadership in digital prevention and wellness programs. Only ten percent of colleges and universities in the country achieved this recognition awarded by Vector Solutions, an industry leader in postsecondary safety and prevention. The honor recognizes the caliber of Reinhardt’s efforts to focus on student safety, well-being, and inclusion.
According to research conducted by Vector Solutions, 34 percent of high school seniors are more likely to attend a college or university that has achieved the CPN Seal of Prevention. Among current college students, 77 percent feel it is important that their institution has achieved the CPN Seal of Prevention. Recipients, on average, have an eight percent higher first-year retention rate and nine percent higher four-year graduation rate compared to those that have not achieved the CPN Seal of Prevention.
The OPA at Reinhardt takes a proactive, comprehensive approach to supporting the whole student. It is committed to providing prevention and awareness programs, events, and activities as well as outreach and advocacy for all its students. The OPA engages students and campus partners to implement initiatives to cultivate a culture where students engage in positive, protective health and well-being behaviors.
