Parker Adams has been named Higher Education General Manager of the Year for 2021 by Metz Culinary Management! Adams is the well-known general manager for Reinhardt’s food service, operated by Metz Culinary Management, which includes Gordy Dining Hall and all event catering on campus.
“This was very unexpected and a huge honor,” said Adams. He kept it a secret from his staff until Jamie Beazley, district manager for Metz, showed up Wednesday to present him with the award. “Keeping the secret was very difficult, especially seeing everyone every day. I had to keep my mind busy. The only person who knew was my administrative assistant, Laure Lehman. As my rock, I could not do anything without her!”
During the award presentation, Beazley noted that this award is a testament to Adams’s leadership, and the commitment of his entire staff. She proudly referred to the Reinhardt dining operation as “Metz’s showcase account of the south.” As Beazley noted, Adams’s team demonstrates the most important aspects of service – Metz’s values, quality, and hospitality. His dedication and leadership have grown the food service operation at Reinhardt into the success it is today.
“I truly love coming to work every day,” said Adams, speaking gratefully to his staff. “The relationship between us, Reinhardt, and Metz is unique. We really care about what you all do.”
Metz Culinary Management provides food service operations in educational institutions, healthcare, and corporations. Reinhardt began working with Metz almost five years ago to provide quality food service for the campus community. “We are very fortunate to have Parker and his Metz staff here at Reinhardt. They are all known and respected members of our community, and we appreciate all that they bring to the campus,” shared Stephanie Owens, chief financial officer and vice president for finance and administration. “The service provided by Metz Culinary Management is beyond compare.”
Adams began working at Reinhardt four years ago, coming from a food service industry background. “I’ve worked in dining halls and food operations in other higher education institutions and in private k-12 schools – operations both large and small. Reinhardt is a perfect fit. Receiving this award is very personal to me because of the relationships I have developed with the Metz organization and within the campus community, especially campus leadership and the student body.”
