A partnership between Reinhardt University and Cherokee County is making it easier for county employees to earn their college degree.
The Cherokee Board of Commissioners approved the Educational Pathway agreement at its May 7 meeting, allowing county employees who qualify the opportunity to earn their Reinhardt degree.

“A lot of employers provide great educational benefits for its employees, and we are honored Reinhardt is pitching in to help our employees better themselves. The more educated our workforce is the better our employees are and the more opportunities we have to promote within,” said Cherokee County Commission Chairman Harry Johnston. “What a blessing Reinhardt is to have in Cherokee County.”
The agreement allows county employee to receive a discount toward their tuition while earning one of Reinhardt’s degree completion or online undergraduate programs, including the Associate of Business Administration, Associate of Science in Criminal Justice, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Criminal Justice, Bachelor of Healthcare Administration, RN to Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Bachelor of Organizational Management and Leadership.
“Creating an educational pathway for adults already working in their careers is beneficial to both the employee and the employer,” said Dr. Mark Roberts, Reinhardt University provost. “We hope this partnership will help Cherokee County government build its educated workforce that serves county residents.”
“This is a great opportunity for county employees who want to complete their degree or start from scratch,” said County Manager Jerry Cooper. “It is my hope our employees take advantage of this educational pathway partnership.”
