Acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. A member of the Reinhardt community who has impacted countless students is being recognized. The Board of Trustees unanimously voted to recognize Reverend David Melton with a resolution of appreciation for service. Rev. Melton has dedicated thirty years of volunteerism to ensure the success of the United Methodist Scholarship Golf Outing.
This award honors his unwavering commitment to the success of scholarship programs and displays a profound appreciation for his outstanding and selfless service to Reinhardt University and its students.
“Between my wife and I, we have five degrees from United Methodist-related institutions,” Rev. Melton explained. “Higher education has always been important to me and our denomination. I’ve always been very involved in higher education and the significance of making education as affordable as we can for students. This is one of the ways we do that.”
The ministerial golf outing raises scholarship funds for students in the United Methodist Church, or who want to enter the ministry. The 2024 United Methodist Scholarship Golf Outing will take place Wednesday, May 15 at Lake Arrowhead Yacht and Country Club in Waleska.
