Christmas at Reinhardt returned to the Falany Performing Arts Center (FPAC) for five live performances this year. Featuring the Reinhardt Choir, Reinhardt Chamber Singers, and Reinhardt Wind Ensemble, Christmas at Reinhardt set the tone for a beautiful Christmas season.
“It was wonderful to have so many people attend and get into the Christmas spirit while supporting our students,” said Jessica Akers, FPAC director. “People were thrilled to be back in the Falany for this popular show. They loved every bit of it!”
Guests were treated to a variety of musical performances including a song played on the FPAC’s newly installed pipe organ. Traditional Christmas carols, religious songs, moving solos, festive melodies, audience sing-alongs, and a reading of “The Night Before Christmas” by Ebenezer Scrooge – played by David Nisbet, associate professor of theatre–welcomed the season.
“It was so nice to be able to perform live this year, even if masked for safety. There is a unique energy that occurs in a live performance, and I know that both the audiences and ensembles were excited to be a part of it,” said Cory Schantz, associate professor of music-voice and conductor of the Reinhardt Concert Choir and Chamber Singers. “The audiences responded so enthusiastically; on more than one occasion concert goers mentioned that these were the most memorable Christmas concerts they’d ever attended at Reinhardt. It is impossible for me to express how proud I am of our choirs and of the performances they gave. They truly were special performances.”
