Like any other family at the holidays, the Reinhardt community celebrates several traditions. One special tradition in particular includes supporting R.M. Moore Elementary School’s Giving Tree program.
Reinhardt works with its partner in education to donate gifts to families and children in the local community. This year, approximately 90 gifts were purchased by Reinhardt’s faculty, staff and students, to be given to 16 children in nine families.
Emily Ingram, parent involvement facilitator at R.M. Moore, appreciates the support of Reinhardt’s community during the holiday season, as well as throughout the year.
“Every year Reinhardt supports R.M. Moore families at Christmas. The generosity they provide to our community speaks volumes to the character of Reinhardt’s faculty, staff and students,” said Ingram. “Without the university’s help there would be students going without this Christmas. We are overwhelmed with the love and support we receive not only at Christmas, but throughout the year with our partnership with Reinhardt.”
Reinhardt’s coordinator of development services and stewardship, Janna Moore, has organized this project with the elementary school for the past decade, and every year it warms her heart to see the community come together to help families in need.
“I am always so grateful to see how the Reinhardt family works to help the community, especially with the Giving Tree project,” said Moore. “It makes me happy knowing that we are providing for families to celebrate Christmas in ways they may not have otherwise.”
Thank you to all who participated in helping families celebrate the holidays and provide gifts for their children.
