Reinhardt University President Mark A. Roberts PhD and Cybersecurity Program Director Kelley Roberts spent over a week in India as part of a delegation of higher education leaders from Georgia. They connected with parents, students, and educators to discuss the unique opportunities offered by Georgia’s private institutions and provide insights into Georgia’s education system.

The number of Indian students enrolling in U.S. universities reached new heights in recent years. Through a partnership with the organization High School Moms (HSM), Reinhardt established a strong foundation in India to offer various scholarship opportunities and learning engagements for South Asian students. HSM is Asia’s largest high school student, parent, and educator community network.

The visit to India also included representatives from Berry College, Brenau University, Wesleyan College, and the Georgia Independent College Association (GICA) in collaboration with HSM and GIDE.AI. Together, they shared information about the program “Study Private, Study Georgia,” which aims to create effective, result-driven educational connections between India and Georgia’s private institutions.

“The time has come for us to encourage students to look beyond rankings,” stated Abhishek Gupta, Founder of HSM and GIDE.AI. “These institutions represent the best of what education offers: rich legacies, robust research-based education, and a commitment to student success.”

“It was a privilege to represent Reinhardt University as a member of the GICA Delegation to India,” reflected Dr. Roberts. “The goal of the trip was to introduce high-quality private colleges from Georgia to students, parents and educators in India. The experience allowed me the opportunity to share how Reinhardt University makes a positive impact on students every day and that our University welcomes motivated learners from India. Reinhardt— a university where diverse talents grow together— is an attractive option for many Indian families to send their young adults to learn, serve, and lead.”

Over 200 regional and national media outlets across India ran a story on the delegation’s visit.
