The stage in Flint Hall at Falany Performing Arts Center will come alive once again this summer as teens learn from Reinhardt University’s esteemed faculty.
The second annual Musical Theatre Camp will be held July 24-29 on Reinhardt University’s campus in Waleska.
“The camp is a fun and interactive experience to do near the end of the summer before school starts,” said camp director Brian Osborne. “It is a great opportunity to learn about how to sing and use your voice for developing characterization, choosing songs that work well in your voice, learning about how to audition and, of course, meeting friends who love to perform too.”
The camp will feature Reinhardt’s School of Performing Arts faculty including David Nisbet (theatre), Stewart Hawley (theatre), Dr. Rebecca Salter (voice), Dr. Cory Schantz (voice), Dr. Anne Schantz (voice), Dr. Reverie Berger (voice), Tiffany Tindall (dance) and Osborne (vocal).
“There are lots of opportunities for careers in musical theatre. We will help you not only tap into your passion, but also teach you about how to gain confidence in your performing and get the role you want, whether it’s in your school musical, in your community or maybe someday on Broadway,” Osborne said.
The final day of camp will feature a showcase of songs campers work on all week. They will perform in Flint Hall at Falany Performing Arts Center.
The camp is open to high school freshmen to recent high school graduates. Cost is $450 per person and includes voice lessons, acting classes, musical theatre workshop, movement and individual coaching and song work. All levels of experience welcome. Deadline to register is July 15.
