When the late John Barmeyer donated his guitars to Reinhardt University, his only wish was for the instruments to be played.
Since the donation, faculty have performed with them at events such as creative writing readings, and students practice with the guitars during lessons, utilizing the generous donation. This November, the guitars will be played by Reinhardt faculty member Dr. Matt Anderson in a performance at The Conservancy in Jasper.
The event, held Nov. 16 at 7 p.m., will feature folk tunes to entertain guests during dinner. Reinhardt students will perform, accompanied by Anderson, assistant professor of music for the School of Performing Arts. Other Reinhardt faculty are scheduled to perform, as well. Tickets for the event are $50. Reserve your seat by purchasing a ticket through PayPal: https://paypal.me/McDonald1019. Proceeds benefit Pickens County students attending Reinhardt University.
