Three incoming students will begin their college careers with the help of the Goizueta Scholarship.
Elyssa Sajche plans to major in creative writing at Reinhardt University and looks forward to the personal relationships found on campus.
“I love how small the campus is, it brings everyone together in a way I would not be able to experience at bigger universities,” said Sajche. “I also am very happy I will have the opportunity to bond with professors and other students, something not many students experience.”
In the future, Sajche hopes to write or edit for businesses and build a name for herself, and to use her writing to help those in need by getting involved with non-profit organizations.
“I am incredibly grateful to receive this scholarship. Knowing how the scholarship started, as well as its goals of helping students fund their education, really puts into perspective how fortunate I am,” Sajche said. “I now want to push myself even further so I can make sure I am doing my part.”
Angela Sciacchitano chose Reinhardt for its nursing program and to join the lacrosse team. She plans to major in nursing and minor in Spanish, and appreciates the University’s passionate and kind professors, as well as its Christian foundation.
“I am proud to have received the Goizueta Scholarship because it is in honor of Robert C. Goizueta. He demonstrated the necessary determination and pride needed to succeed,” said Sciacchitano. “Not only will this help me afford a private, four-year college, but it encourages me to live out his values and integrity, honor and pride in my own work as a nurse.”
Carlos Guerreros is the third recipient of the Goizueta Scholarship this year and plans to major in biology.
“I decided to attend Reinhardt after attending a school tour,” said Guerreros. “I knew I belonged at Reinhardt as soon as I stepped onto the campus.”
After graduation, Gurerrero hopes to find work in his field.
“The Goizueta Scholarship will help me achieve my future plans. It also helps me become the first member of my immediate family to obtain a college degree.”
