Each with unique insights, and a shared commitment to Reinhardt University’s long-term success, Pete Nettles and JoEllen Wilson (RU-1961) joined the Reinhardt University Board of Trustees this Fall. The 34-member board oversees and guides the institution’s management and direction, ensures its long-term sustainability, and upholds its mission. The University welcomes Nettles and Wilson.
Nettles joined this governing body because of his passion for education, “Serving on the Board has significant personal meaning as a first-generation college graduate. Higher education unlocked my own personal potential as well as exposed me to opportunities I could have never dreamed of while growing up in Alabama. A college education truly is an investment in one’s future, and the Trustee’s work is focused on supporting that investment.” He added, “The Board of Trustees at Reinhardt University is fully committed to supporting the University’s efforts to provide a well-rounded and quality educational opportunity that meets the dynamic needs of today’s students.”
Wilson, a Reinhardt alumna and emerita vice president for advancement, says trustees during her tenure inspired her to become a member, “This opportunity to become part of Reinhardt in a different capacity is so exciting and challenging. I do hope I can be a mentor to current and future students, as well as faculty and staff. Sustaining the Mission of ‘educating the whole person with challenge and care’ is not just a slogan to me. I look forward to offering whatever I can to support past and future initiatives that have made Reinhardt the place that changes and supports lives.” She added, “The main duty for trustees is to make policy decisions for Reinhardt which have been the backbone of what has kept my alma mater so vibrant.”
