This RU Wins video was played for the Good Morning Cherokee audience

As an active community partner, Reinhardt University sponsored the Cherokee Chamber of Commerce’s signature annual event, Good Morning Cherokee this week. September’s business networking breakfast and forum featured an introduction by Vice President for Advancement and Communication Johnson Bowles, a keynote address by the University’s President Mark A. Roberts, Ph.D., and a video, “RU Wins” highlighting Reinhardt’s athletic accomplishments during the 2023-24 academic year. Click HERE to see the video.

VP Bowles began the program by sharing inspirational stories highlighting the vision of Reinhardt’s past leaders, staff, trustees, donors, and alumni. She touted Reinhardt’s pervasive mindset as one focused on seeing potential in others and within oneself. “It is a mindset that utilizes creativity, compassion, and sheer will in order to solve problems and create a better world by focusing on learning, serving, and leading.” She called it the “what if…” mindset.

President Roberts highlighted current faculty, staff, and student accomplishments and connected them to the needs and hopes of the community at large as examples of the University’s ethos to “do the real work for the good life.” Hundreds of attendees learned of ways university staff and students fulfill this campus culture of doing work that has meaning, and the achievements many received.

Then, Dr. Roberts spoke about the University’s new strategic plan and the initiatives underway including new undergraduate majors and minors, master’s degrees, and new certificate programs that will enhance workforce development in the region and the state.

Dr. Roberts understands the Chamber’s mission to expand the local economy and enrich the community. Because Reinhardt offers programs relevant to today’s workforce needs and develops those talents needed by area businesses, the University positively impacts the community. Dr. Roberts concluded his remarks, “Invest in Reinhardt – Invest in Your Community.” which was met with a resounding applause.

The program ended with an inspirational video showcasing the accomplishments of student-athletes and their coaches. The video was created by David Finney, Sports Information Director at Reinhardt.
