Reinhardt’s student theatre season kicked off last weekend with a stunning performance and a lively interaction with the audience. Murderitaville, a murder mystery dinner theatre, entertained two sold-out audiences.

Some patrons enthusiastically became involved in the show, and others took notes to help solve the mystery of who killed a travel show host at a resort’s grand opening. “It was fun to see their reactions and how they interpreted the roles we assigned to the audience members,” says Reinhardt University Theatre Technical and Operations Manager Morgan Brooks, “They played their parts well, and it was great to see them having fun while interacting with the cast members. We hope to offer more events like this in the future.”

Brooks and her husband, Will, wrote the script specifically for this event. The cast featured Liv Adams (RU-2025), Josh Ratcliffe (RU-2027), Rose Dickinson (RU-2028), and Frog Vassy (RU-2028). Dickinson loved every minute of her first collegiate performance saying, “Murderitaville was so much fun and well organized. I loved laughing with the other students in the production and with our audience over this entirely silly script. I enjoyed seeing the audience fully interested in who killed Gil Fiero with poisoned cheddar. My favorite part was listening to everyone speculate and interrogate Sandy Bottoms and Sheila Shells as well as each other to figure out whodunnit.”

Rehearsals are underway by theatre and musical theatre students in the School of the Arts for their 2024-25 season:

Cabaret: September 27th – 29th

Sylvia: November 15th – 17th

Romeo & Juliet: February 21 – 23rd

Alice by Heart: April 11th – 13th

All performances take place in the University Theatre. Tickets can be purchased here: https://ci.ovationtix.com/35154/
