Reinhardt University is pleased to announce its 24th annual United Methodist Scholarship Golf Outing benefiting Reinhardt University students will be held at the always charming Bent Tree Golf Club, Jasper, Ga. on Wednesday, May 17.
“The annual United Methodist Scholarship Golf Outing raises money to help students looking to enter the ministry or those who are dependents of clergy. The support we receive year after year is encouraging, knowing there are so many willing to put their faith in our next generations,” said the Rev. David Melton, of Dunwoody United Methodist Church who chairs the golf outing committee. “We hope this year’s event will exceed last year’s participation and fundraising efforts.”
The event provides funding for United Methodist Scholarships at Reinhardt University. UMC students are able to receive up to $2,000 per year and dependents of North and South Georgia United Methodist clergy may receive up to $12,000 per year from the Reinhardt United Methodist Scholarship Fund.
The Outing at Bent Tree Golf Club begins at 10 a.m. with registration, practice and a putting competition, followed by lunch and a shotgun start at 1 p.m., a late afternoon barbecue meal and presentation of awards. All participants will receive a Reinhardt gift bag, and prizes will be awarded to teams and individuals.
