The Georgia StormReady Advisory Board recognizes Reinhardt as a StormReady University. StormReady is a program of the National Weather Service that helps arm America’s communities with the communication and safety skills needed to save lives and property–before, during, and after a severe weather event.

Becoming StormReady consists of a series of commitments adhering to the National Weather Service’s established guidelines for preparation for significant weather, utilizing multiple ways to monitor weather conditions, establishing numerous ways to notify the community in the event of inclement weather, and conducting weather safety training.

Reinhardt’s certification exemplifies the University’s commitment to proactively improving local hazardous weather operations in partnership with StormReady. From tornadoes to winter storms, advanced planning, education, and awareness help the University community be better prepared.
