Reinhardt University’s Prevention and Health Promotion Director Ty Hatter joined over four thousand advocates from across the globe at a premier training event committed to the field of substance misuse prevention. She attended the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) National Leadership Forum from February 2nd to the 6th at National Harbor located in Maryland. Hatter serves as Reinhardt’s project director for the Office of Prevention and Awareness, and is a member of Cherokee Focus, a collaborative partnership of community organizations that aims to improve the lives of Cherokee County families.
With the goal of creating safer, healthier, and stronger communities, renowned speakers and over 100 workshops provided resources, strategies, insights, and training. Hatter reflected on the conference’s impact, “Reinhardt will benefit from what I learned by incorporating and educating students, public safety, and faculty and staff members on the topics discussed. This education will be provided by inviting community partners to speak further on the topics, and our office will provide resources to our students by putting on events.”
CADCA was established in 1992 to unite coalitions, share strategies, and drive community-level solutions, creating a positive and lasting change in communities worldwide. Its members include schools, law enforcement, youth, parents, healthcare, and media. Members represent all U.S. states and over 30 countries.
