Dozens of disc golf players from around the region navigated the course across Reinhardt’s campus on February 10th. Prodigy Disc, headquartered in Dalton, GA, chose the campus to host a Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA)-sanctioned singles tournament.
Ranging from 12 to 75 years of age, and various skill levels, 88 players competed in a range of divisions. Four holes were added to the 18-hole course, making the two-round event ten miles long.
Prodigy Disc Event Manager Matt Zollitsch enthusiastically relayed, “It was a gorgeous day on the campus of Reinhardt University for our College Classic Disc Golf Event. The event sold out well in advance of the deadline, and the players loved the surroundings and landscaping. Prodigy looks forward to continued events at RU.”
The disc golf course at Reinhardt is free and open to the public. Zollitsch describes it as an intermediate to advanced level course. The University has discs available for checkout at the Hasty Student Life Center, and a club for all skill levels that meets weekly.
