The Waleska community enjoyed the annual Trunk or Treat festivities, hosted by the Waleska United Methodist Church and Reinhardt University. The family-friendly Halloween event on October 30th featured dozens of decorated cars and trucks, each with costumed participants matching their vehicle’s theme. Participants included student and faculty groups, church members, and community organizations.

Over 500 trick-or-treaters played fun and spooky games, raced on a Mario-Kart bicycle raceway, collected candy from car trunks, and showed off their Halloween attire. Among some of the eye-catching vehicles competing for the best design displayed the themes of a barnyard, Harry Potter, Frozen, and Beetlejuice.

Dean of Students Walter May helped coordinate the event and explained, “Each year we serve about 600 kids that may not have an opportunity to do trick-or-treating in a safe environment. Through a partnership with local churches, our athletic teams, our fraternities and sororities, student organizations, our departments—all come together to serve our community.”
