The 25th Annual United Methodist Scholarship Golf Outing was a huge success for student scholarships despite Mother Nature’s actions.
With more participants than ever, the annual event raised $33,330 for student scholarships at Reinhardt University. Students receiving funds from this particular outing must be affiliated with the United Methodist Church through immediate family or be on a path toward going into ministry.
“The weather did not hold off for us for the first time in 25 years, but most participants were able to play at least half of the course at Bent Tree Golf Club. We appreciate everyone’s understanding when the decision was made to call the tournament due to bad weather,” said Dale Morrissey, director of development & external relations. “At the end of the day, we were all there for one cause, raising money for student scholarships. Thank you to our wonderful sponsors and participants for their support.”
Because the tournament was called due to weather, there were no tournament place winners. Prizes were distributed via raffle.
