How to Apply-Graduate Programs
Take the right step for your career & your future by earning a Reinhardt University graduate degree. Reinhardt University offers several graduate programs to choose one – each with its unique application process.
Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing
The MFA program is an engaging low residency masters program. Students are coupled with a mentor to enhance the online experience while in person 10 day intensive sessions each summer bring the curriculum to life. Start terms are offered in the fall, spring and summer each academic year with an estimated two year completion for the 60 semester credit hour program.
- Complete the application for admission to the MFA program: The candidate must complete the online application for admission and select “Graduate” as the student type for the program to become an option. Applicants can track when documents are processed by logging into the online application portal at any time.
- Send All Official/Final Transcripts: One transcript must reflect a Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a minimum 2.75 GPA (on a 4.0 scale). Use one of the three methods for transcript delivery:
- By Email: Send documents through a professional, approved transcript service such as Parchment or National Clearinghouse to admissions@reinhardt.edu.
- By Mail: Send a sealed, official document to: Reinhardt University Admissions, 7300 Reinhardt Circle, Waleska, GA 30183
- In Person: Bring a sealed, official transcript to the Office of Admissions during business hours.
- Submit a sample creative manuscript: 10 pages of poetry or 20 pages of fiction/nonfiction/memoir or 30 pages of scriptwriting.
- Submit a Critical writing sample (4-5 pages): This can be a college research paper or a detailed review of a recent book or film.
- Submit a personal essay (2-4 pages): An informal introduction to who you are and a description of your writing experiences, interests, and goals.
- Submit two letters of recommendation from a professor, workplace supervisor, or fellow writer attesting to your character, intellect, commitment to completing tasks, ability to work independently, and writing ability.
Master of Science Sport Administration Leadership Program
The MS-SAL program is an online degree designed for students to complete in one year. Start terms begin every 8 weeks so talk with your admissions counselor about the next opportunity you have to enter the program. There are options for international students to take hybrid courses on campus.
- Complete the application for admission to the MS-SAL program: The candidate must complete the online application for admission and select “Graduate” as the student type for the program to become an option. Applicants can track when documents are processed by logging into the online application portal at any time.
- Send All Official/Final Transcripts: One transcript must reflect a Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a minimum 2.75 GPA (on a 4.0 scale). Use one of the three methods for transcript delivery:

- Submit a 300-word essay on how an online MS-SAL fits with your career goals.
- Obtain 3 letters of academic or professional reference addressing the applicant’s ability to carry out graduate course work.
*Reinhardt University students who are applying to the MS-SAL program, and graduate with a minimum cumulative GPA 3.0, can waive requirements for the resume, essay and letters of recommendation.
Master of Public Administration-Executive Command and Leadership Program (ExCL)
The Executive Command and Leadership program leads to the award of a Master of Public Administration and provides broad based training in subjects such as economics, policy analysis, management and communications. The ExCL is being administered through the Reinhardt University Public Safety Institute and offers a career enhancement path for individuals who are employed by, or interested in working within, public safety, private, nonprofit or public service. This masters program provides the opportunity for qualified individuals to complete training requirements for the award of both the Executive Command and Executive Leadership Certifications through the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (P.O.S.T.). The program consists of twelve courses with 480 hours of direct instruction, supplemented by interactive online assignments. Each course requires 40 hours of direct instruction delivered through a mandatory face-to-face residency component. The residency component cannot be waived.
